Operation Sindoor
The group headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor arrived in Colombia on Thursday after visiting Guyana and Panama.
In an interview with Colombian media, Tharoor voiced his dissatisfaction with the country’s government’s reaction to Operation Sindoor. He claimed that Colombia had sent a condolence message for the deaths in Pakistan following India’s counterterrorism operations, rather than expressing sympathy for the victims of terrorism.
India wants countries around the world to remind those who harbour and support terrorists to stop doing so, Tharoor said, adding that Colombia may not have completely comprehended the circumstances when it sent condolences for the Pakistani losses.
There can be no moral equivalency between attackers and defenders, stated Shashi Tharoor, who is presently in charge of a multi-party mission as part of India’s international outreach against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. : Operation Sindoor
Instead of demonstrating solidarity with the victims of terrorism, Tharoor remarked, “We are a little disappointed by the Colombian response, which seemed to express heartfelt sympathy for the casualties in Pakistan after the Indian operations.”
The Thiruvananthapuram MP clarified that India and Pakistan cannot be seen from the same perspective, adding that India used its right to self-defence to respond to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam by initiating Operation Sindoor

We want to let our Colombian friends know that there is no comparison between those who support terrorists and those who oppose them. The attackers and the defenders cannot be compared. We’re only using our right to defend ourselves. We are available to assist in clearing up any misunderstandings that may have existed. According to ANI, Tharoor stated, “We are pleased to talk about the situation in detail with our Colombian counterparts.” Operation Sindoor
He added that the Colombian condolence telegram might have been the result of a lack of knowledge about the circumstances. According to him, India wishes that governments throughout the world will strongly remind those who provide sanctuary and protection to terrorists that they must cease their conduct.
We believe that when the statement was made, expressing sympathy for the losses in Pakistan as a result of Indian strikes on terror bases, the full context might not have been understood. It’s important to us that people know where we stand,” Tharoor stated. Since India has long served as a symbol of constructive global change, we really hope that other countries will do the same and call on those who harbour and aid terrorists to cease their activities. That would be very helpful, whether at the UN Security Council or somewhere else.

He continued by saying that The Resistance Front, a branch of the Lashkar-e-Taiba with its headquarters in Muridke, Pakistan, swiftly claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
India has had numerous terrorist strikes over the years, just like Colombia. For almost forty years, we have been subjected to several attacks,” Tharoor said.
