Superstar Rajinikanth Wows Fans with Wit and Wisdom at ‘Coolie’ Audio Launch

Rajinikanth, the superstar, is well-known for his persuasive oratory abilities. He had the crowd in stitches as he praised the actors and crew of Coolie during its audio launch ceremony in Chennai.

 To put it briefly:

Rajinikanth uses his signature sense of humour to amuse the crowd during the Coolie audio launch in Chennai. He gave the entire crew and director Lokesh Kanagaraj high marks. revealed behind-the-scenes information from his co-stars and interviews.

Rajinikanth once again showed his skill as a speaker during the Coolie audio launch, which took place on August 2 at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium. The entire crowd was amused by his animated address, which included self-deprecating quips and clever jabs at filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. He conveyed a powerful message at the end of his speech: respect in society and domestic harmony are more significant than financial gain.

Coolie was just as unforgettable as Rajinikanth’s comments at audio releases. He offered amusing anecdotes, reflected on his background, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the team and actors.

After seeing Kaithi, he recalled meeting Lokesh Kanagaraj. I wanted to meet him before other actors waited to collaborate with him. I called him after watching Kaithi to ask if he had any stories to share. Yes, he said, adding that he likes Kamal Haasan. Rajinikanth playfully responded, “Wait a minute—did I ever ask you who you’re a fan of?” Why are you stating this to me? He added that Lokesh was making fun of himself by informing him that the story lacked his typical punch phrases.

Rajinikanth praised the efforts of stunt choreographer Anbariv, editor Philomin Raj, and cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, calling Lokesh the “real hero of Coolie.”

Aamir Khan, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Nagarjuna’s interviews were then ridiculed by him with the statement, “Director Lokesh gave a 2-hour-10-minute interview to a channel.” It just went on and on, and I watched it. It continued to play even after I got up, sat down, and moved around. I even woke up from a slumber, and you know what? It continued! His comedic timing caused the audience to erupt in laughter.

Additionally, Rajinikanth didn’t refrain from making self-deprecating remarks. “He promised to make magic in the first song,” he stated, praising Sandy, the choreographer. I introduced myself as a 1950s model with thousands of kilometres of running experience. I’ve replaced my worn-out pieces! Take care of me; don’t push me too hard.

Rajinikanth quipped about Nagarjuna’s timeless charm, saying, “I spotted him during the shoot, and honestly, he hasn’t aged a day!” His hair is still on him. All of mine are gone. “Exercise,” he replied when I asked him the secret. Rajinikanth shared that director Venkat Prabhu crafted a striking line for Ajith Kumar’s character in Coolie: “Innum evlo naal dhan nallavanaave irukardhu,” which translates to “How long do I have to keep being the good guy?”

Rajinikanth addressed the rumours of a rift with actor Sathyaraj by saying, “While Sathyaraj and I may have disagreed ideologically in the past, he’s someone who always speaks his mind”—and Rajinikanth added, “That’s something I genuinely admire. You can always trust people who speak their minds without hesitation.” After 38 years apart, the two are reunited on screen.

He revealed, “I asked Lokesh one day who was playing the lead female role,” in reference to Shruti Haasan. “Shruti Haasan,” he said. Taken aback, I questioned him if he had already discussed it with her. According to him, Shruti was awaiting my blessing. I wasn’t sure if she would fit the part because I thought she was glamorous in movie 3. However, I can now state that she did an excellent job! There’s less pressure here, so she even said she’s more enthusiastic to work with me than in her father’s movies!

Rajinikanth also talked candidly about a private experience. He was reminded of his days as a porter in real life by playing a coolie in the movie. I once received ₹2 from a man who instructed me to pack his bags into a tempo. He had a familiar voice. I recognised him as a friend from college, someone I had frequently made fun of. “What’s this drama you’re doing?” he asked. That was the first time in my life I broke down in tears.

In closing, he expressed his sincere gratitude to his supporters, saying, “My supporters kept me upright whenever Rajinikanth—the tree—was on the verge of falling. I should fall at their feet in gratitude. Beyond hard labour, a heavenly voice—God’s voice—is the driving force behind all of my accomplishments. Recognise the difference between God’s voice and your own. Nothing compares to domestic harmony and social respect, regardless of one’s level of fame or fortune. On August 14, Coolie will be released in theatres in several languages.
