Reimagining India’s Future: CM Revanth Reddy Calls for National Task Force on Urban Growth”

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy demanded on Saturday that a national task force consisting of the chief ministers of Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana be established, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi serving as its leader.

 He underlined that the only way to fulfil the Central Government’s lofty objective of a developed India by 2047 is to embrace cooperative federalism and concentrate on state development.

At the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy stated, “States aren’t just places where new ideas are born – they’re the real driving force behind India’s progress.”  “We must proceed together, with a genuine spirit of teamwork between the Centre and the states, as we strive to create a stronger and more equitable India,” he continued.

Telangana’s Chief Minister highlighted the state’s important role in boosting the GDP, along with its strong leadership in technology, industrial expansion, and governance reforms…  He reaffirmed Telangana’s determination to take the lead in realising the trillion economy’s ambition..

By 2047, Telangana aims to become a fully developed state, contributing 8% to India’s overall GDP. With a goal of reaching a GSDP of $2.4 trillion, the state plans to establish itself as a key driver of both regional and national economic growth, he stated.

Additionally, he emphasised Telangana’s resolute commitment to assume this duty and guide the nation towards the objective of a developed India by 2047.

In order to create a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready India, he stated that we must keep working together, exchanging best practices, and encouraging one another.  He added that Hyderabad’s 2.5% GDP contribution is comparable to that of big metropolises like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata.  He urged the formation of a national task force, led by the Prime Minister and the key chief ministers, to unlock the full potential of these major cities.

“This task force should concentrate on infrastructure investment, governance reforms, and comprehensive urban development in these cities,” he stated.  “Millions of jobs will be created, India’s position in the global urban economy will be improved, and national economic growth will be accelerated with a committed and well-coordinated strategy for these metros.
