Actress Tanushree Dutta posted a tearful video to Instagram on Tuesday, in which she is seen sobbing and stating that she is being harassed at home and has called the police for assistance.
In the video, Tanushree, who spearheaded India’s #MeToo campaign, breaks down in tears as she talks about her experience. She disclosed that she has brought up the matter with the police and that the situation has gotten intolerable.
Tanushree Says in an Emotional Video, “I’m Being Harassed in My Own Home.”
Tanushree may be seen sobbing in the Tuesday video as she utters,
“I’m experiencing harassment at home.” The police asked me to come to the station to make a formal complaint after I called them. Most likely, tomorrow or the day after, I’ll go. I don’t feel good. Over the past five years, I’ve experienced so much harassment that I’ve become ill.
She went on to say,
“I can’t do any work. My entire home is in disarray. Housemaids put people in my house; therefore, I can’t keep them. I have had awful experiences with maids who enter, steal, and engage in other dubious activities.
She wrote the following in the video’s caption:
“I’ve had enough of this harassment! It has persisted since 2018. #MeToo I was so frustrated today that I called the cops. I need help, please! Take action now before it’s too late. Tanushree Dutta
Another Strange-Sounding Video Was Shared
A loud cry can be heard in the background of another video that Tanushree provided, but it simply shows darkness.
She wrote as she posted it:
“Almost every day since 2020, I’ve been hearing these loud noises—sometimes screams—at odd hours from outside my door and above my ceiling. I eventually gave up a few years ago after complaining to the building administration on several occasions.
She went on:
“I simply deal with it now. I listen to Hindu mantras on my headphones to keep myself occupied and sane. I wasn’t feeling great today. As many of you are aware, I have chronic fatigue syndrome as a result of years of stress and anxiety. These annoying sounds continue much past the hours that are considered appropriate. In my FIR, I’ll be telling the police more about this. Tanushree Dutta

Tanushree Dutta rose to fame after winning the Femina Miss India Universe crown in 2004 and soon made her mark in Bollywood with popular films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag. When she claimed that actress Nana Patekar had sexually harassed her on the filming of the 2008 movie Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss, she made news in 2018. While Patekar denied all of the accusations, she was subject to political backlash and censure from certain segments of the Indian film industry. Although Tanushree filed a formal complaint in October 2018, Nana Patekar was exonerated of all charges by the police in 2019.
