In India, Toyota Introduces Mild-Hybrid Fortuner and Fortuner Legender Models In India, Toyota debuted the mildly hybrid variants of its well-liked Fortuner SUV and high-end Fortuner Legender. These new models, known as the Neo Drive 48V, have a 48-volt mild hybrid system that improves low-speed performance and fuel efficiency.

Under the hood, the Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive feature a robust 2.8-liter diesel engine that generates 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque, delivering a powerful and smooth performance on the road. The 48V mild-hybrid technology, which consists of a lithium-ion battery and a belt-integrated starter generator, is novel. This technique ensures smoother low-speed driving, increases mileage, and lessens engine noise at startup.
In order to cut down on pollutants and fuel consumption, the hybrid technology also has regenerative braking and an auto start-stop feature that turns off the engine when it is idle. Apart from a new ‘Neo Drive’ logo on the tailboard, the exterior look is mostly unchanged despite these improvements.
Useful technological innovations like a 360-degree panoramic camera to aid with parking and tight manoeuvring and a wireless smartphone charger for increased comfort are included with the new versions.
