In India, Yamaha has formally introduced the FZ-X Hybrid, which retails for ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 149cc engine in this new model produces 13.3 Nm of torque and 12.2 horsepower. It has fuel-saving features like a Smart Motor Generator and a Stop & Start System.
With the new FZ-X Hybrid, Yamaha’s well-liked neo-retro motorcycle series gains a new level of fuel efficiency. It costs more than the typical FZ-X, which sells for ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha has included the same hybrid technology seen in the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, which was just released. Powering the bike is a 149 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers a peak torque of 13.3 Nm and a power output of 12.2 hp. Its Stop & Start System and Smart Motor Generator both improve fuel efficiency.
The Stop & Start System smoothly restarts the engine with a single clutch pull and immediately shuts it off when it is idle. In the meantime, the Smart Motor Generator provides electric power to the engine during acceleration, improving the efficiency and smoothness of the ride. The non-hybrid FZ-X offers an ARAI-certified mileage of around 50 km/l, while the hybrid version is expected to deliver even better fuel efficiency.
A new 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect app is another hybrid technology addition for the 2025 FZ-X Hybrid. Features including turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps and a variety of trip data are available to riders right on the screen.

Key safety elements from the conventional FZ-X, like traction control and single-channel ABS, are still included in the hybrid version. The standard non-hybrid FZ-X will still be available in Metallic Black and Dark Matte Blue, while Yamaha will sell the hybrid version in a new Matte Titan colour scheme.
