The incident, which reportedly occurred on April 12, was captured on CCTV at the BJP’s district office in Gonda In the video, Kashyap and a woman are seen ascending stairs together before he seems to make an inappropriate gesture by hugging her as she follows him.

Kashyap defended himself in reaction to the widely shared video, claiming that the woman in it is a fellow BJP employee who was experiencing vertigo and need assistance. She requested a spot to relax because she wasn’t feeling well that day. I ushered her into the office. She started to feel lightheaded as we ascended the steps, so I held her to keep her upright,” he told news agency PTI. He further claimed that his political rivals were using the footage maliciously to damage his reputation.
