PM Modi’s Visit to Cyprus, June 15–16
Prime Minister Modi will begin his international tour with a visit to Cyprus, where he is scheduled to stay from June 15 to 16. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet President Nikos Christodoulides to explore ways to strengthen bilateral ties, with a special focus on key areas such as technology, trade, investment, and security.

Modi declared:
“His Excellency President Nikos Christodoulides has invited me to visit the Republic of Cyprus from June 15 to June 16. In the Mediterranean region and the European Union, Cyprus is a significant ally and friend of India. This visit is a significant chance to strengthen our longstanding relationships and advance collaboration in technology, business, and interpersonal interactions.
Notably, this will be the first time in more than 20 years that an Indian prime minister has visited Cyprus.
G7 Summit Visit to Canada, June 16–17
On invitation from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, PM Modi will visit the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, from June 16 to 16–17 as part of the second leg of the tour.
PM Modi is anticipated to discuss India’s position on important international issues such as energy security, innovation, and technological collaboration, according to the country’s Ministry of External Affairs.
PM Modi’s This visit is important from a diplomatic standpoint since it follows tensions over the Khalistan issue between Ottawa and New Delhi. Additionally, it is PM Modi’s first trip to Canada since former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s September 2023 accusations that Indian spies may have been involved in the death of Khalistani rebel Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada caused tensions between the two countries, which New Delhi vehemently denied as “absurd”.
